Turkish Political Economy

This course has three principle aims: (a) to describe and discuss the main theoretical discussions of the field of political economy at the intersection of the state, market and society; (b) to use the analytical frameworks deduced from these discussions to study the foundations, the historical evolution and the current trajectory of the issues pertinent to Turkish political economy; and (c) to undertake a comparative analysis to situate Turkey within the regional, peer-group and global contexts to gain a broader perspective and offer policy lessons for policy-makers.
