Gender
The difference between sex and gender, and how gender becomes social issue constitute the basic concepts of this course. The course will examine the differences between gender equality and gender justice in detail. It discusses the main themes such as women in paid labour, masculinities, LGBT rights, and domestic violence. Besides the exams, the students are asked to write an academic essay about a specific topic on gender. The aim is to raise students’ perceptions about the issues they have identified and to raise awareness of gender issues.
