Design Studio II

Students are expected to analyze the possibilities and limits of the determined areas and determine the current situation with sketches and models. They should determine the spatial and functional requirements by conducting in-depth research on the design problem (A company, product or service selection will be made by researching companies with different product, presentation and sales requirements. The product or service offered, the company's corporate identity and customer profile/density will be effective in shaping the design concept). It should be considered that the main function in the design will be the shopping area, but various side functions can be added depending on the selection (exhibition, playground, cafe, product trial units, experience areas, etc.). The design concept/concepts and the possibilities offered by the store will be determined after the student's in-depth research on the subject and the company. It reflects the design idea to the physical environment with form, material, color, texture and furniture applications; it gives meaning and originality to the space. It prepares the interior solutions for the store with 1/100, 1/50 and 1/20 scale architectural drawings, perspectives and a working model for the final presentation.
